PROJECT: Big Buddy Portable Propane Heater

Mr. Heater approached us to help them design and engineer a larger brother to their popular Buddy portable heater. The Big Buddy features a dual-heating system that combines radiant heat comfort with convection heat airflow. This heater can be used camping, in the garage, or anywhere heat is needed.

Visually, we evolved the Big Buddy design to give it a fresher, more contemporary appearance that still kept a family resemblance to the original Buddy design. Functionally, we maximized the efficiency of the heating element and packaged the internals in a very small footprint for easier use.

Mr. Heater was very happy with the Big Buddy and sales exceeded their expectations.

Our contributions to these projects included 2-D and 3-D concept development, 3D CAD modeling, prototyping, and engineering.
