Priority Designs wins Gold IDEA award

For the 12th consecutive year, Business Week magazine has reviewed the innovative field of Industrial Design in a worldwide search for the most notable, influential and significant product designs. This year, Priority Designs, a Columbus Ohio - based company received a Gold Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA) for it's contribution to the development of the STX Ignitor Protective Gear Collection. Designers Paul Kolada, Kevin Vititoe, Sean Svendsen, Eric Fickas, Pat Walker, Scott Kline, Mark Mnich, and prototyping engineers Jim Riesenburger, Janet Cutler, and Gary Hocke were all recognized for their efforts in helping STX create the gear.

Like other fast-paced sports, lacrosse is a hard-hitting, aggressive game and requires player protection. To address these issues of player safety, STX (a leading supplier of lacrosse equipment) requested the help of Priority Designs. Extensive research and development yielded a modular system that offers players better ventilation, increased range of motion and the best protection on the market.

Consumers recognized the Ignitor Collection as something new, different and better right away. Within the first six months of production, STX sold out of their production inventory. Ignitor sales have driven protective gear revenues up by an impressive 20%. We consider that a successful product development effort.
