Priority Designs wins 2001 Good Design Award
Recently, the Sears shopping cart designed by Priority Designs was
presented with a 2001 Good Design award. The Good Design award remains
one of the oldest and most important design competitions worldwide.
Founded in 1950, the award recognizes designers and manufacturers
for advancing new and innovative product concepts. Hundreds of submissions
were received from over 40 countries. A jury in Helsinki, Finland
judged the awards in November 2001. The Good Design winners will
be exhibited at a show, which opens in March 2002 at the Chicago
Athenaeum's main museum.
"We are extremely pleased to receive this prestigious award.
One of our goals as a company is to challenge conventional thinking
and the Sears cart is filled with innovative ideas.'' said Eric Ficas,
senior designer and project manager for the cart. This is the second
Good Design award for Priority Designs, winning in 1999 as well.
