Priority Designs purchases rapid prototyping machine
A new tool recently joined Priority Designs' prototyping arsenal
in the form of an Objet rapid prototyping machine. Said principal,
Paul Kolada; "Creating rapid prototypes from 3-D CAD files is
a very common and crucial step in today's fast paced product development
world. And, Priority Designs is committed to staying on top of the
latest technological advancements to give our clients the edge they
need to succeed. Parts made on our Eden 333 Objet printer look and
feel just like traditional stereolithography type parts but have
some distinct advantages. Output parts feature smoother surface finishing
and can capture an amazing amount of 3-dimensional detail. Build
times are also faster and the parts require less post processing.
Having this machine in-house means that we can also deliver prototypes
faster and exhibit tighter control over the final product. These
are all savings and efficiences that can be passed on to our clients." Shown
below are Objet printer samples pictured next to a pencil for scale.
Output Specifications:
Build Envelop - 13.4" x 13" x 7.9" ( 340 x 330 x
200mm) Net Build Size - 13.2" x 12.8" x 7.9" (larger
parts can be built by gluing multiply sections together.)
Modeling Material - proprietary plastics cured with UV light.
Layer Thickness - Horizontal build layers down to 16 microns (0.0006")
Build Resolution - X axis: 600 dpi, Y axis: 300 dpi, and Z axis:
1600 dp
Final Finishing - parts are sanded by hand and are then painted
or chrome plated as normal for a realistic appearance. Additionally,
these parts can be used as masters for use in creating silicon molds
and urethane duplicates.
