Priority Designs adds soft goods developer to our staff.

After an exhaustive nationwide search, Priority Designs recently added a soft goods developer to our staff. Senior industrial designer Tom Africa joins our team bringing 8 years of experience in soft good design and development. As a former manager of new product developement for Mead Corporation, Tom developed backpacks, day-planners, and many other "cut and sew" products. During his time at Mead, Tom traveled extensively to the orient learning the sometimes difficult nuisances of overseas vendor coordination. Also while at Mead, Tom was intimate with project cost analysis and has a wide knowledge of materials and processes. Priority Designs feels Tom's relationships with vendors, broad experience coordinating prototyping, and material and process knowledge will be of great value to our clients.

With the increasing popularity of soft good products like back-packs, camera bags, sports equipment, luggage, etc. , Priority Designs felt the time was right to augment Tom's expertise with our own. Said, principal Paul Kolada, "It's rare that a design firm would have this kind of soft goods expertise on their staff, but we believe it is just one more level of service that helps seperate us from our competitiors."
