Priority Designs wins 2003 Gold IDEA award
Recently, Business Week magazine reviewed the innovative field of
industrial design in a worldwide search for the most notable, influential
and significant product designs. This year, Priority Designs, a Columbus,
Ohio - based company received a Gold Industrial Design Excellence
Award (IDEA) for the our contribution to the development of the STX
Fuse Lacrosse stick. Designers Paul Kolada, Kevin Vititoe, Eric Fickas,
Pat Walker, Aaron Cornaby, Dana Koppes and our protoytping staff
were all recognized for their efforts in helping STX with the project.
The award is the second Gold IDEA award for Priority Designs in as
many years.
Jurors singled out the Fuse for it's use of ground breaking overmolding
technology. The stick features the first-ever fusion of nylon and
a rebound deadening elastomer. The rubber sidewalls improve control
of the ball within the pocket of the head by reducing "rattle
and spin".
Priority Designs participation in the project included brainstorm
ideation sketching, material research and development, working prototypes,
50 final presentation sales prototypes,Pro-Engineer 3D CAD documentation,
computer modeled finite element analysis and overseas vendor support.
