Priority Designs helps create new lacrosse gear for STX.
Recently, STX Lacrosse asked us to help create several news lines
of protective sports equipment for lacrosse players. They wanted
to differentiate the lines with different styling and features starting
with entry level SKU's all the way up to several high-end feature
rich pieces. To help them we helped create the "Stinger", "Chopper", "Shogun" and "Gladiator" lines.
Each carry new innovative features which aid in comfort and safety.
Designers Aaron Cornaby, Mike Lorenz, Kevin Vititoe, Justin Amago,
Sean Svendsen, Josh Boggs, and Dale Bauman all supported STX on these
projects with research, 2-D and 3-D concept development, graphic
design, electronic CAD modeling and vendor support. Said designer
Aaron Cornaby, "We wanted these to look very aggressive so we
took our inspiration from classic rebel and warrior influences like
bikers, insects and the martial arts. Aside from the physical protection
the gear gives the players, we want it to effect them mentally as
well. The gear should make them fell invincible when they strap it
on."
The new equipment has only been on the market for a short time but,
the initial response from the players has been great. Here's a couple
of reviews from various lacrosse fan web sites.
"This is one of the strongest goalie pads I have ever worn.
You will barely feel the fastest shot through it. No velcro (thank
god) only durable clips. And another feature I found to be good is
it's water proof, so no more of your goalie pad soaking up water
from rain and weighing 50LBS. It's pretty light, stays on you well,
and looks cool. Well worth the price I paid.
"The pads over your sternum and heart are covered in plastic
over foam, which really works well to deaden the feel of shots, and
should provide extra protection for a critical area. Quite comfortable
to wear and adjust. Doesn't restrict movement, and doesn't seem to
ride up much. Overall, a terrific chest protector and well worth
the money. Protecting your heart is not a place to skimp!
"These gloves are tight... I have a set of these for playing
goalie and they have so much protection... the way the thumb is built
on these is great.. it barely takes long at all to break these gloves
in great product."
