Priority Design’s sweep 1st, 2nd at the IDSA International Ultimate Derby.

Chris Cicenas’ Slingshot car used a catapult to launch its mini .25 oz car from its one pound primary vehicle to win the IDSA Ultimate Derby Car 2007 competition Oct. 20 at the World Design Congress in San Francisco in record time.

“The core mechanical idea behind the Slingshot was to catapult a tiny, light weight car to high speeds, much like an aircraft carrier catapults jets off its deck,” explained Cicenas, who’s design crossed the finished 40 ft in 1.74 seconds. His nearest competitor, Priority teammate Josh Boggs finished second at 2.41 seconds.

Paul Kolada to speak at the 2008 AutoWeek Design Forum.

Priority Designs’ principal, Paul Kolada has been selected as a speaker at
the 2008 AutoWeek Design Forum held at the North American Auto Show in
Detriot. The forum, sponsored by AutoWeek magazine, will be held on January
16th, 2008 and feature presentations by notable speakers from the automotive
and design communities.

Over 700 people toured the offices on November, 2nd 2008 when Priority
Designs opened it’s doors to celebrate it’s 17th anniversary and the
completion it’s office remodel. Clients, students, facility, family and
friends all came to see the new space and wish Priority Designs well.

Priority Designs gears-up for The 2007 Ultimate International
Derby Car Competition.

Placing 2nd and 3rd in last year’s Industrial Designers Society of American’s Derby Car Competition is not good enough for our mechanical engineers at Priority Designs. The IDSA Derby Car 2007 competition sponsored by IBM will take place at at the World Design Congress in San Francisco from October 17 – 20, 2007.

Eder wins Best in Show Design Awards.

Ryan Eder an industrial designer at Priority Designs is the first student to win the coveted “IDEA Best in Show” in the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) competition.  The design jury was tough this year awarding 20 gold awards in a field of 595 foreign entries from 29 countries, as well as 1,096 U.S. entries.

The Ohio Business Development Coalition kicked off a campaign with a series of ads featuring Ohio executives sharing how Ohio has enabled them to achieve balance in their personal and professional lives.

Priority Designs wins 2007 Volvo Sports Design Award.

Priority Designs and TaylorMade Golf received a VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD for the r7 SuperQuad by TaylorMade Golf at the ispo winter 07 (International Trade Show for Sports Equipment and Fashion). Finalists were honored and winners announced at an elaborate awards ceremony February 3, 2007 in Munich, Germany.

Priority starts the year with new employees.

Priority Designs welcomed several employees to our staff over the past few months. The recent hires include Ryan Eder, Chris Boggs, Josh Sander, Ryan Crisp, Linda Siders, and Don Meves bringing our full-time staff total to 50.
