SERVICE: Qualitative design research consulting
CLIENT: Vitamix
Vitamix wanted to expand their product line and asked us to research
both consumer and commercial markets to look for new ideas in small appliances.
We conducted
on-site visits with both homemakers and professional chefs. We interviewed
and photographed them to examine how they work in their kitchens and undercovered their ideal work experience. From
these visits came a wealth of rational and emotional insights into
appliance features and design elements that could appeal to buyers.
Vitamix found the research to by extremely helpful and many of
these insights will be incorporated into future Vitamix products.
