to do so. In the case of American Standard, they wanted assistance
in understanding their competitive landscape. Over the years, we’ve
developed metrics to measure their markets. We study consumer trends
and market forces. We define style categories, identify market gaps,
and benchmark competitors. Then we compile the data, add our own
insights gained from our experiences in a wide range of markets,
and look for patterns that signal opportunities.
Once this groundwork is completed, we create dynamic visual matrixes
that help communicate our recommendations to stakeholders. American
Standard has found our techniques very valuable and they’ve employed
the results in forming strategies for new product development.
