PROJECT: Sears’ Shopping Cart
Sears wanted to create a better shopping experience for its customers,
and decided the time was right to bring a cart into their stores. Ohio
Steel, a supplier for Sears, enlisted Priority Designs to create a cart
that would redefine Sears’ image in the marketplace. Working with
Ohio Steel, we researched the needs that were unique to Sears and its
customers, and designed this cart specifically for their environment.
After its introduction, the cart was frequently copied by Sears’ competitors.
The design won a 2000
Bronze IDEA award and a 2001
GOOD DESIGN award.
Our contributions to this project included 2-D and 3-D concept development,
3D CAD modeling, prototyping, and engineering.
