Our mechanical engineers are used to jumping in at various points from start to finish in the product development process. This includes: concept generation and CAD development, validation through FEA and testing, designing production solutions, 2D drawing creation, and transfer to manufacturing. ITERATION AND COLLABORATION

Within our our 50,000 sq. ft. studio our shop’s workspace is 20,000 sq. ft., allowing our engineers to easily collaborate during the iterative design process with our researchers, designers, and prototypers. Our team has experience partnering with clients across a myriad of industries, often centering on medical, industrial, and consumer programs. From working within strict FDA requirements for medical projects to more informal program management, we work within your project’s needs, intended application, and industry.

Our team quickly verifies and validates designs against CAD using highly accurate precision measurement tools, such as our Atos Q 3D scanner, test stands, and pressure vacuum testers. This ensures accurate prototypes that fall within design parameters, that design intent is transferred from the testing phase to production handoff, and helps to avoid costly production delays.

Proof-of-Concept Prototypes

Proof-of-Concept and Engineering Prototypes are critical for evaluating designs and testing and proving the design’s functionality. Proof-of-concept prototypes don’t focus on aesthetics, but on verifying feasibility for brainstorming concepts. Engineering prototypes are more refined, convey functionality, and may include aesthetics to support design intent.

Both of these prototyping processes allow us to quickly iterate and evaluate a design, instead of spending valuable time and money finalizing a design that isn’t feasible. These models focus on functionality, not aesthetics, and can be built from a number of processes: 3D printing, machining, CNC-laser cutting, and off the shelf parts.
