PROOF-OF-CONCEPT

A proof-of-concept prototype is a vehicle to test your design, establish functionality, and test materials.

FIGURING OUT THE BEST APPROACH

The purpose of developing a proof-of-concept prototype is all about learning what works and what doesn’t. Throughout the process, we test materials and processes to find the right mix for a successful design. The goal is function; models are made to work, but may not have the detail or production level material that is applied for a functional prototype.

QUICK AND EFFICIENT SOLUTIONS

To build a proof-of-concept model, parts can be made from CNC machines, printed on a 3D printer, cast in the casting lab or fabricated with the use of a traditional bandsaw to get the forms that are needed. Our team tests the parts and materials to ensure they are working or suggest new ways to meet the needs of the product.

A proof-of-concept prototype is used in the beginning of the development process. The prototype is used as a means of refinement, so extensive painting or finishing isn’t needed, which allows these models to be made quickly and efficiently. Once a proof-of-concept prototype is complete, it will give you the confidence to know that you’re headed in the right direction.
