BRAND DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH

Enhancing Brand Awareness & Perception

Buyers often rely on recommendations from friends, critics, and on-line reviews to help them decide what to buy. Positive perceptions are crucially important to the success of brands and products. Brand development research, talking directly to customers, helps brands improve satisfaction and overall sales; it establishes a base of unbiased knowledge that highlights opportunities for growth.

Our trained staff use a number of qualitative research techniques to help audit awareness and perceptions before purchase. One technique is through using customer intercept research. We find targeted participants in their native environments and conduct short interviews to help us diagnose:

  •  What is the overall brand/product awareness, and how could it be increased?
  • What are customer preference?
  • What are the problem areas?
  • What are the potential solutions?

Using customer intercept research, we can get quick and insightful feedback to help guide design development. Our expert research professionals can work with you to design a brand or product analysis program that best fits the needs of your company

Customer Intercepts Identify:

  • Brand perception
  • Voice of the consumer
  • Growth opportunities
  • Brand awareness

Case Study: Gait Lacrosse

The GAIT® LACROSSE project utilized customer intercepts to interview teenage boys about their perceptions and preferences relating to lacrosse brands and equipment. We interviewed dozens of boys at the NCAA Lacrosse finals, and at specialty retailers, to learn more about their lifestyles, motivation for purchases and to observe how they’re influenced during in-store purchasing.

Using the insights from brand development research, our team assisted GAIT® in re-branding themselves and refocusing their marketing efforts directly toward their core consumers. Additional services provided to GAIT®: new brand strategy, visual brand language, marketing communications, themed customer brand experiences, and a series of new products.

The result – A dramatic increase in customer awareness and positive brand perception, which translated to increased overall sales.
