Quality Testing
Want to know if your helmet can stop a 100 MPH fastball? Want to know the deflection on a ladder with 300 lbs? Want to know if your product will last 300,000 cycles? Our engineering testing and analysis can help. From hand calculations to full risk analysis, our engineers can create a test plan and validate your design criteria. We can create dynamic 3-D simulations, or create and perform physical testing of your device. Whether as part of a full development program, or just a smaller test protocol, we are equipped to complete your testing.
Engineering Testing & Analysis Examples:
- Performance and lifecycle testing
- Empirical development (calculations)
- Ergonomics
- Non-linear FEA
- FMEA
- Risk analysis
Case Study: Rawlings S100 Baseball Helmet
Understanding that Rawlings was setting new MLB requirements for helmet protection, engineering testing and analysis was needed so our team built an in-house air cannon that shoots a 100mph ball to refine (and continue testing) the original S100 helmet design. Numerous materials and composites were evaluated after impact; results were analyzed, recorded and re-tested. Witnessing the immediate effects of the 100mph impact gave clarity to the material direction and enabled our engineering team to make confident decisions for refinement.
