SPORTING GOODS DESIGN

Our Winning Team

We understand that sporting goods design is all about creating protective gear and enhancing performance to elevate the athlete’s game. Our design staff has worked on products used by pro-level athletes in the NFL, MLB, PGA, and major league lacrosse. We continue to push boundaries of sporting goods innovation as the performance needs of the professional athlete necessitate cutting edge technology.

Our sports-focused design staff understands the sporting goods marketplace, the competition, and the trends, to bring world-class product designs like the Taylormade Drivers and the Nike Covert Driver to market. Our engineering staff explores and tests new materials to keep our athletes safe, like the Rawlings S100 helmet that helps reduce the impact of concussions.

Case Study: Nike Covert Driver

Sporting goods equipment that we’ve designed is used by some of the world’s most elite athletes to excel at their game. Turn on a pro-sports game, and chances are you’ll see our sporting goods design. We leverage the same knowledge and experience we’ve gained in developing professional sports products by driving it into products for recreational athletes. Whether it’s collegiate, high school, grade school, or toddler athletes, we aim to help everyone enjoy the games they love.

In the case of Nike Golf, we collaborated with their Long Term Research group to bring the Covert Driver to market. After 3+ years of development, our teams designed, engineered, and prototyped hundreds of iterations to bring radical technology and iconic design to Nike’s drivers. Capitalizing on the concept of cavity back irons, technology that has been used in irons for years, we applied the same physical properties to driver. Perimeter weighting, visible from the sole of the golf club, allows off-center hits to be more forgiving while providing maximum distance.

The Flex-Loft hosel system provides true independent control over loft and face angle, resulting in 15 unique positions for the club. When it comes to customization, the Covert Driver excels, hands down. Tiger Woods and the rest of Nike’s professional athletes have posted record years and statistics with the Covert Driver.
